A week of struggles
This week has really been a struggle for me. My times have really to put it bluntly sucked! I just completed my weekly long run which I normally do at the end of the week today. I am trying to front load this week since I have the dualathon on Saturday. I ran my 8 miles today in a pain staking slow rate on 1 hour 39 minutes. Not my normal pace. I have started to have some pain at the top portion of my foot near my big toe. This has happened before but it generally goes away. I did make an appt for the Chiropractor tomorrow. Hopefully, he can make it feel better like he has with my hip. It is odd because all my "problem" areas are on my left side. I will keep pushing on....

Hey Tammy! Nice blog about running...I just started running a couple months ago and I was just wondering how you can run these long distances without feeling like somebody blew out your knees with a sledge hammer.....I went 8 miles or so last week and I can barely bend down afterward. I feel fine while I'm running...I guess thats why I keep doing it.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your race this weekend ! you'll do great!

ReplyDeleteTHanks! I dont have any knee pain when I finish running. How old are your shoes? You should replace them over 350 miles or so. I can usually tell when I need new shoes because my legs will begin to ache. After you run, do you stretch? That may help too. When did you start running? I am still a newbie (started about 2 1/2 years ago) but I am pretty addicted. I love the sense of accomplishment after I am done.
